Cody Smith

Cody Smith is a passionate and driven entrepreneur.  Becoming a Real Estate Sales Representative had been a long time consideration and with the support from a highly valued and respected client Cody decide to pursue his dream. With a lifelong interest in sustainable building design and construction, combined with an entrepreneurial spirit and an interest in property, this has enabled him to attain his career goals and offer his clients an unique level of insight and expertise.

After spending time travelling, Cody decided to return,  set his roots back down where he was raised on Sandhill Rd, Coldwater and establish his career.  Cody graduated from Sir Sandford Fleming’s Sustainable Building Design & Construction program in 2007 and has developed the building company Global Sustainable Solutions. With Global Sustainable Solutions, he has successfully constructed Canada’s first LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Platinum, Energy Star, Net-Zero Ready, Solar Ready, Passive House.

Cody is known for his honesty, integrity and for creativity in going beyond the status quo. Cody is known for finding excellent property solutions for his clients and persevering until the perfect fit is discovered.  He believes strongly in supporting local businesses, whether it is working directly with them or shopping locally.

As a realtor, Cody uses his extensive background in construction, especially sustainable building science. This provides an extra level of service for buyers and sellers of all types of property that other sales representatives cannot match. He enjoys developing sustainable and affordable housing. First-hand experience with local renovations, energy efficiency, new constructions, bi-laws and building permits also adds another dimension of professional knowledge that many realtors and brokerages are not able to offer.

Cody is currently working on a Not-for-Profit to further develop sustainable and affordable housing.  On the rare occasion when Cody is not working he enjoys spending time with his family, catching a movie or discovering a new restaurant. He wants to be known as someone who successfully achieves what he sets out to accomplish.
